Newly Registered Adults may not participate until these steps are complete and the unit is notified.
Scouts and their parents expect all Boy Scouts of America activities to be conducted safely. To ensure the safety of participants, the Boy Scouts of America requires all adult participants to register and be cleared by a criminal background check before they can participate in a leadership capacity.
effective March 4, 2024An Adult, 18 and over, must complete an application either online or on paper.
On receipt of the application the person is put into a "pending" status and the applicant and key 3 will receive an email notice to that effect.
On successful completion of the Adult Leader Selection Process below the applicant and the unit Key 3 will receive an email notice that the new leader may begin as an active participant in the unit.
Keep in mind that the process may take more than a few days. Plan accordingly. A week ahead should be sufficient, and longer if you just moved into the area.
